Mark Jenkins is an artist living and working in Washington DC. His medium of choice is ordinary packing tape and he uses this to make tape castings, a process he first discovered as a child. His characters include lifelike human figures, tape babies, giraffes, dogs etc. and the work is usually installed in the urban environment as "street installations".
Jenkins believes his work distorts the social fabric of the city, giving plasticity to the otherwise solid state environment of buildings, laws and signage.
